Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hollywood Cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Abel was born July 29, 1895, in Yazoo County. She was the daughter of the late E. G. Dunn, who was taken prisoner upon the capture of Vicksburg by General Ulysses S. Grant on July 4, 1863. She later operated a general store in McComb.
She attended McComb High School. She was a retired school teacher and housewife. She also was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in McComb, the Daughters of Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by four sons, Judge Houston Abel of Tyler; Evander Abel of McComb; Frederick Abel of Hahnville, La., and David Abel of Irmo, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
