A native of New York, New York his entire life, Arthur died soon after being diagnosed with inoperable colon/stomach cancer on September 14, 1956, in his hometown at the age of 55. The doctors went in but sewed him back up - there was nothing they could do.
Arthur worked at the Rupert Brewery which was located in the Yorkville section of Manhattan and as a NYC taxi driver. After work, he enjoyed a beer and playing table shuffleboard with his friends, who affectionately called him Ginsburg, at the local area bars. It is unknown why Arthur was nicknamed Ginsburg.
Arthur's also served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama working on the Panama Canal.
He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, the next to his beloved first daughter, Dorothy Margaret Kienzle who died 18 years before Arthur died in 1956 at the age of 13 due to complications from a tooth infection.
Arthur was survived by his loving two daughters, Barbara Ruth Kienzle and Mathilda Eleanor Kienzle-Morrison (Robert), as well as his former wife Mathilda Holzwarth-Kienzle Wenger.
He was also survived by his dear step-daughter, whom he considered his daughter and lived with on and off for many years and who cared for him during his illness, Louise Olga Buckingham-Morello of New York, New York.
