Verton W. Lenfest, 74, died Nov. 24, 1976, at Kensington, Conn. following a long illness. He was born at Milford, son of William and Blanche (Kennedy) Lenfest. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Kensington, Conn; Star of the East Masonic Lodge of Old Town. He had previously lived in Bangor for three years. He is survived by Viola (Hodsdon) Lenfest of Kensington, Conn., three sons, Verton Jr. of North Chelmford, Mass., Merle of Pasadena, Tex., Rodney of Vernon, Conn., one daughter, Mrs. Althea Edwards of Greensboro, N.C., one brother, Theodore of Old Town; two sisters, Mrs. Madeline Rand of Southbridge, Mass., Mrs. Marie Harris of Greenfield, and seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Baillargeron Funeral Home Old Town, Monday at 1 pm. Burial will be in the Cardville Cemetery. A Masonic memorial service will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 pm. Memorial gifts maybe made to the Kensington United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
