Alton Norman Christensen was the son of Henry Christensen and Ida Jeppeson.
Alton graduated from Evan High School and attended Tracy Junior college. He worked for and managed the Snow's Hatchery beginning in 1930. On November 1, 1937 in Marshall, Minnesota, Alton married Mildred Ethel Klein. They moved to Brookings, South Dakota in 1944. He was the owner and operator of the Brookings Hatchery until 1957. He then worked at the college in Brookings.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, one brother, and nine grandchildren.
