He was a devoted employee of the Federal Navy Yard in Portsmouth Va., and Washington, DC and NASA @ Goddard Space Flight Center when that opened in Greenbelt, Md. He was of upright and impeccable character, kindly nature and supportive of his family, friends and neighbors. Conservative political views and fighter of justice. He was a pillar of the community and the perfect example of fatherhood.He was a craftsman who enjoyed making various useful items of furniture for our home and frequently painting inside and outside the home, but his greatest hobby was the vegetable garden he faithfully tended daily until advanced age prevented him continuing in his 80s. There were always fresh vegetables and fruit from our grapevines and apple tree on our table every day. He was always puttering around the house with various ongoing maintenance projects which he enjoyed, always staying busy.
