John Q. Adams, 67, Former Resident of Markleville, Dies

John Quincy Adams, age 67, a former resident of the Markleville community, died Tuesday morning in the St. John's Hospital at Anderson following an illness of several weeks. He was born (the year of birth has been approximated) in Union Township near Anderson, IN, the son of Alonzo and Laura (Basicker) Adams.
Until John's retirement a few months ago, he had been an employee of the Delco-Remy plant for twenty-six years.
He is survived by his widow, Alice Adams; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Cole of Anderson; one son, Harold Adams of Anderson; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lindsey of Anderson; a brother, Pude Adams of Anderson; five grandchildren; and several nieces and newphews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Valorous C. Rector Funeral Home in Markleville with Reverend George Harris, pastor of the East Lynn Christian Church, officiating with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery near Anderson. Friends may call at the funeral home.
