Ruth Naomi Antosik, 89, formerly of Kokomo, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012, in Sevierville, Tenn. She was born June 7, 1921 in Woodford County, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle (Littler) Garber. On March 20, 1979 in Kokomo, Ruth married Zdzislaw "Joe" Antosik who preceded her in death.
Ruth lived most of her life in Kokomo, and had worked at Continental Steel in the nail mill. Her hobbies were quilting, reading and sewing. She was a member of the Christian Church most of her life, and was attending Woodlawn Christian Church in Knoxville, Tenn. at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Carter, and husband Ray, of Sevierville, Tenn., and Deborah Holmes, of Jonesboro; her step-children, Walter Antosik, Irena Ronk, Mary Roberts, Mark Antosik and Lisa Oberle; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was assisted in her stay in Tennessee by Ken and Melissa Carter, and Karen Carter, two of her grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Myrtle Garber; her sisters; Julia Sommers, Pearl Deardorff, Katy Miller and Mary Ellen Albright; her husband; and stepchildren, Mitch Antosik and John Antosik.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Albright Cemetery with Rev. Dean Davis officiating.
