Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Grace Alberta Adams, age 87, passed away at home in the arms of her loving family on June 6, 2004.
Born, May 24, 1917 in Duchesne, Utah, daughter of Albert Alvin and Ottillia Shepard Robbins. Married Andrew Charles Adams April 17, 1937 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death December 21, 1991. Mom was a member of the D.U.P. and served for many years as captain, served in numerous callings in the LDS Church, was active in scouts and holder of the Scouter's Key. She led the first group of couples to float the Colorado River, and enjoyed many interests in her spare time. She and her husband were side by side in all they did whether it was work or play. She was founder of the Duchesne Girls' Luncheon Club.
Mom is survived by her children, Carolynn A. (Chris) Miller, Orem, UT ; Alvin C. (Joyce) Adams, Billings, MT; Don R. (Linda) Adams, Plain City, UT ; Judy (Ken) Milar, West Valley City, UT ; Kim L. (Debra) Adams, Roy, UT ; 21 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grand-children; sisters, Elma Mackerell, Roseanna (Ray) Ellis, Wanda (Doug) Hershey, Ida Foy and Enid Foy; brothers, Jack (Joan) Foy, Leo (Marilyn) Foy. Also preceded in death by son, Shane R.; two grandsons, Bruce C. and RussDee; two brothers, Wendell and Clarence Foy. Special thanks to Harmony Hospice.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 11, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Granger 10th Ward, 3274 Hillsdale Dr. (2760 West). A viewing will be held Thursday, June 10, 2004, 6- 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and on Friday at the church,10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
