Gerry served a long and distinguished career with the United States Marine Corps seeing combat in both World War II and Korean War as a Naval/Marine Corps Aviator. He aided in the training of combat flyers for the Vietnam War.
After retirement from the military in 1963, he joined the team of the Apollo Crew Systems of NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, testing equipment and training astronauts for future flights into space.
When Gerry's years at NASA ended and with his experience as a helicopter pilot and test psychologist, he helped to design and test new guidance systems for the U.S. Air Force, England and other private defense contractors.
He is greatly missed by his family but now is in the hands of the Lord.
