Dewitt Fleming, 12 years old, of Glen Allan, died in King's Daughters Hospital Saturday morning at 11:10 o'clock of an accidentally inflicted bullet wound in the head from a .22 rifle while deer hunting in the Glen Allan area.

According to reports reaching here Young Fleming was attempting to let the dogs out of the car for the hunt when his rifle slipped from his hands and fired.

The rifle bullet enered his head below the right ear and emerged below the right ear and emerged just above the ear. Rushed to the hospital here he died an hour later.

Dewitt was the son of S. R. Fleming, Glen Allan planter. In addition to his father he leaves two brothers, Luther and Eugene Fleming, Glen Allan and two sisters, Miss Maudie Fleming of Glen Allan and Mrs. Raymond Morris, Jackson.

Funeral services conducted by The Rev. W. D. Bennett will be held at the Methodist Church in Glen Allan Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery at Glen Allan. Stovall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
