Twilla A. Carter, 78, Stella, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2000, at her daughter's home in Neosho where she had been staying because of ill health.

Mrs. Carter was born Jan. 12, 1922, and was a lifelong resident of Stella. She was a homemarker and member of the Union Chapel Church.

She married Coy William "Bill" Carter on Oct. 4, 1941, at Pineville. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1992. she was also preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Manor and one brother, Norman Gideon.

She is survived by one son, Garry Carter, Stella, two daughters, Anita Weems, Neosho, and Linda Morrison and her husband, Paul, Neosho, grandchildren Jeffrey Carter and his wife, Susan, Kelly Carter, Billy Carter, Jacob Morrison, Tony weems and his wife, Casey, and Andrea
Simek and husband Leny, seven great-grandchildren, five brothers, Clyde Gideon, Goodman, Arthur Gideon, Joplin and Donnie Gideon, Clifford Gideon and Kenneth Gideon, all of Anderson and three sisters, Lola May Myers, Louise Mahurin and Joyce Kern, all of Anderson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson. The Rev. Frank Arnall will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Stella.
