Funeral services for Mary "Ruth" Taylor Allred, age 86, of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be 2PM, Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Goodwill Baptist Church in Goodwill Community with Rev. Jimbo Herring officiating. Interment will be in the Redwing Cemetery near Oak Grove. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1PM until time of service at the church.
She is preceded in death by her son, Charles Michael "Mickey" Taylor; step-son, James Allen Allred; parents, Charles Clyde Shomaker and Bessie Melissa Jordan Shoemaker; brother, Jessie Shomaker; sister, Jeanie Newton.
Ruth is survived her husband, James Prentiss Allred of Oak Grove, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn "Dick" Taylor and Linda Taylor of Minden, Louisiana; step-son and daughter-in-law, Mike Allred and Geneva Allred of Kilbourne, Louisiana; step-son and daughter-in-law, Larry Allred and Roselynn Allred of Ruston, Louisiana; step-daughter and son-in-law, Linda Watson and Ervin Watson of West Monroe, Louisiana; step-son, Bobby Joe Allred of Kilbourne, Louisiana; sister, Kathryn Kemp of Flint, Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her great-granddaughters.
