Vonna Wait Jahner, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died March 16, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center in Idaho Falls from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born June 22, 1933 in Hannaford, North Dakota, to Chauncy and Alice Ostlund Wait. She grew up and attended schools in North Dakota, and she graduated from Mayville State Normal School in Mayville, North Dakota.
In 1957, she married Peter Jahner in Riverdale. She taught school after college and was employed by the Contracts Branch of the Army Corps of Engineers in Riverdale, ND. Pete and Vonna moved to Idaho Falls in 1959, and had lived there since.
Vonna was an accomplished organist and loved flower gardening. She was a great and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband; son and his wife; her daughter; two sisters; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncy and Alice Wait, and a brother, Mark Wait.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 20, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street, in Idaho Falls. Pastor Marv Eld officiated.
