DOYLINE, LA - Services for Janet Sue Edwards Banks, 67, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gevan Spinney and Bro. Billy Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Janet was born June 30, 1941 in Shreveport, LA to Maurice James and Cygil Dees Edwards. She passed away the afternoon of March 26, 2009 while recuperating from surgery. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandma, Friend, "My Jan Jan" was loved and will be missed by all.
Janet was preceded in death by Maurice James Edwards, father and former husband James Aaron Banks.
She is survived by her mother, Cygil Dees Edwards; siblings, Nancy Allen, "Jamie" Edwards, and June Edwards; and brother-in-law James Friday. Momma will be missed by daughter Cygil Anne Cowell, son-in-law Craig Cowell, and grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Bartlett, Emily Cygil Bartlett, and Victoria Raye Grillo; daughter, Amie Roberta Herren and grandchildren Colton James and Haley Beth Herren, and daughter Brenda Sue Banks Strange, son-in-law Brian Strange and grandson Adam Gage Banks Beard.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bartlett, Craig Cowell, Brian Strange, John LeGrand, Sean Joyner, Gary Aguire.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Edwards, James Friday, and Landon Joyner.
