Mr. Arkehurst was born Dec. 21, 1942, in Stella and was a lifelong Neosho resident. He was a fork lift maintenance man at Sunbeam for 25 years and was a member of the Bible Holiness Assembly of God Church, serving many years as Sunday School secretary.
He married Mary Lou Borders Jan. 28, 1967, in Conway, Ark. She survives as does his father, Wallace Akehurst, of Neosho, and three brothers, Jim Akehurst, of Anderson, George Akehurst of Joplin ande Ron Akehurst of Brookine Mo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bible Holiness Assembly of God with Rev. Robert Hargrave and Rev. David Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery south of Stella.
