Mrs. Clara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a collector, an entrepreneur, a patron of the arts and a servant of God. She was 78 and a lifelong resident of Zachary. She died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Zachary United Methodist Church, Zachary, on Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. She is survived by her daughters, Meryal Ethel "Lell" Annison of Houston, Katherine Carruth "K.C." Annison and Margaret Altazin, both of Zachary; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. "Andy" Annison III and Suzanne Annison of Zachary; a sister, Felicia Fitzgerald of Zachary; grandchildren and spouses, Tanya and Hunter Ingersoll, Kathleen
"Kathi" and David Gordon, Christine and Eddy Franz, Shelly Annison , James Noel "Jimmy" Annison , Jason and Stacie Oliver and Carl Kurtz; and greatgrandchildren, Tara Katherine Ingersoll, Ryan Anderson Ingersoll, Collin Harrison Gordon, Kyle David Gordon, Aaron
Joseph Oliver, Abbie Renee Oliver, Trevor Andrew Billiot and Christian Augustus Billiot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Annison Jr.; parents, Samuel S. and Ethel
Baxter Lipscomb; and a sister, Annie Laurie Lipscomb. Pallbearers will be James N. "Jimmy" Annison , Hunter Ingersoll, David and Collin Gordon, Eddy Franz, Jason Oliver, Donald "Don"
Fitzgerald and David Felder. Honorary pallbearers are Sidney Blitzer, Donald J. "Pete" Charlet, Carl Hancock, Joey Hebert, Carl Kurtz, Wilmer Mills, Erskine Pou and Bill Zollinger. She was an active member of Sigma Alpha Pi sorority, Portfolio Club, Zachary United Methodist Church and the finance committee, Seekers Bible Study, Louisiana Arts and Science Center, Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Louisiana Cattlemen's Association, Cowbelles and Zachary Bronco Century Club. She was a former member of the Porcelain Art Guild and Zachary Garden Club, Camp Fire leader, Louisiana Appaloosa Horse Club, board of directors of the McHugh House Museum and past president of the Women's Society for Christian Service (currently known as UMW). Memorial donations may be given to Baton Rouge Area Foundation, the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum, LSU Foundation, Zachary United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or Zachary Community School System. Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, is in charge of arrangements.
