Carrie, also known as Kari or Karin, was born in Höljes, Värmland Province, Sweden the daughter of Halvor Larson or Erickson and Carrie Mattson. She immigrated in 1873. She married Andrew Johnson on June 20, 1875.
Carrie and Andrew had two children: Clara who was born in 1882, and Alfred who was born 16 years later. Carrie was widowed at the age of 54, and died at the age of about 81.
