Third Member of Family Dies
Death claimed Mrs. Harve Totten at about six o'clock Saturday evening,October 26th,making three members of the family succumb to the dreaded disease Influenza and Pneumonia in less than a week.
The deceased was fourty years of age and born in Richland County,Wisconsin. She was wedded to Harve Totten twenty two years age, seven children being born to bless their union, but only three are now living, namely Virgil, seventeen;Kenneth, nine and Winona seven. The family have lived in Crandon 12 Years.
The remains were taken Monday to Bloom City,Wisconsin, for burial, where two of the children are now laid at rest and the other two will be moved later. Relatives who arrived here from that city Saturday night were Mrs.David James and son Raymond and Mrs. Mildred Kidd. They and Virgil Totten accompanied the body to its last resting place.
The other children in the family are now practically well and next week Mr Totten expects to take them to his parents in Richland County and will,no doubt remain there himself. The older son,Virgil, expects to return to Crandon when school reopens, attend to his studies and make his home with the editor of this paper.
If ever sorrow came to anyone it has visited Harve Totten and the entire community joins in extending the hand of sympathy to him and his family. (Much thanks to the Crandon Public Library in Forest County WI. for this obituary.)
