age 52, wife of Gary Abney, of Lovely Lane, Jeffersonville, KY passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at U K Chandler Medical Center due to injuries that she received in an automobile accident. Born in Lexington, KY she was a daughter of the late George James and Mary Courtney Garrett. She was a former cashier at General Dollar Store and she had attended Clay City First Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Garrett and Eva Brooks. Surviving relatives are her husband, Gary Abney; one son, James (Robin Strange) Abney of Jeffersonville, KY; one daughter, Michelle (Clinton) Thorpe of Stanton, KY; three grandchildren: Courtney and Jacey Thorpe and Jerica Abney; four brothers: Jimmy (Donna) Garrett and Ellis Ray Garrett both of Clay City, KY, Gary Wayne Garrett of Georgetown, KY and David (Christy) Kissick of Winchester, KY and two sisters, Ruth Lacy and Diane (Mike) Billings both of Clay City, KY. Visitation begins at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday and funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home Chapel, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton, KY. Interment will follow in the West Bend Cemetery, Clay City, KY. Arrangements by Hearne Funeral Home, Inc.
