Death comes at Home of Mrs. J.J. Mains, Daughter
Death came suddenly Sunday at ten p.m. to Patrick J. Byrne, pioneer mill and rail worker and one of the city's beloved residents. He died at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Mains of south Third street, of heart disease.
Mr. Byrne was 72 years old and he had spent his entire life in this community. He was a veteran employee at the Russell C. & O. round house and was widely known and highly esteemed. His death came as a shock to every acquaintance.
Surviving Mr. Byrne are two daughters, Mrs. J. J. Mains of Ironton and Mrs. M. T. Sanders of Ashland, one son, William Byrne, local barber, two sisters, Alice Masterson of Del Air, N. J. and Miss Mary Byrne of Pittsburgh.
Friends may call at the O'Keefe funeral home. Last services will be conducted in St. Lawrence church Thursday at nine a.m. with burial in Sacred Heart cemetery.
