A longtime Bardstown resident Mrs. Myrtle Wickliffe, age 95, died Monday evening, Jan 31, at her home here.
She had been an active member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a member of the church choir, had served as a deaconess, a member of the board of trustees and the stewardess board. She was also a past president of the Parent Body Missionary.
Mrs. Wickliffe was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by six sons, Charles L. and William L. Wickliffe of Bardstown. Eugene H. of Louisville, Lindon H. of Orange New Jersey, Samuel V. of Campbellsville, and Horace W. Wickliffe of San Diego, CA; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie L. Arnold, New Albany, Ind.; Mrs. Sadie J. Lawler, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; Mrs. Hattie G. Fisher of Bardstown, and Mrs. Addie M. Long of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. John A.M.E. Zion Church , by the Rev. James Crumin, pastor. Interment will be in Bardstown Cemetery.
