Agnes Edith Link McCullough Barnes was a daughter of Joseph Washington Link and Columbia Jane Condray Link. She had 7 siblings: Alfred McCoy, Joseph Ellis, Amanda Link Canterberry, Mary Jane Link Julian, Charity Link Payne, Matilda Sarah Link Carnahan, and George Washington.

She married E. D. McCullough in Ripley Co., MO on May 11, 1895 and had 4 children: John E. (b. circa 1902), Chlora T. (b. circa 1904), Lora Ruth (b. circa 1906), and Ernest W..

After E.D.'s death, she married John Barnes on Sept. 8, 1918 in Ellsinore, Carter Co., MO and they moved to Springfield, Greene Co., MO.

Agnes' paternal grandparents were Josiah Link and Jane Rex Link. Her maternal grandparents were Ellis Mason Condray and Catherine Watson Condray.

Her obituary was published in the 1-2-1941 edition of The Current Local, Van Buren, Carter Co., MO on page 8 (used with permission).

"Elbert Link and wife of Parma, Mo., passed through here Friday enroute to Springfield to attend the funeral of Mrs. Agnes McCullough, they were accompanied from here by Elbert's sister, Mrs Wiley Smith. Mrs. McCullough was a former resident of Ellsinore and a sister to the late A. M. Link, and has many friends and relatives here who regret to learn of her death."
