Carlene Marie Easton Chennault, 89, of Commerce, beloved and devoted to her faith, family, and friends, passed on to her heavenly home April 26, 2012, at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. A memorial service was held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, at Church of Christ in Commerce with David Gibson and Joel Shelton officiating. Interment followed in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Paris.

Carlene was a member of Church of Christ in Commerce for more than 50 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher and vacation Bible school teacher for many years She was retired from ARA Food Services at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she spent 15 happy years serving the students and faculty members in the Lion's Lair and cafeteria.

Carlene was preceded in death by her precious husband, Euel C. Chennault; infant daughter, Judith Marie Chennault; parents, Jesse and Nevada Easton; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Chennault; son-in-law, Gary Cobb; as well as a brother, Harold Easton.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, David Chennault (Shirley) of Cumby, Tom
Chennault (Joy) of Greenville, Jimmy Chennault (Sherry) of Commerce,and Sharon Mitchell (Steve) of Texarkana, Ark. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Tina Fults of Waco, Keith Chennault (Sarah) of Sulphur Springs, Kyle Chennault (Leah) of Quinlan, Chris Cobb (Elise) of Wake Village and Carrie Chennault (Andee) of Austin; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Maggie Lee Risinger and June Burdine; and one brother, Jesse Easton, all of Paris.
