Guy T. Springer, retired telephone company pioneer, died Sunday morning in a local hospital. Mr. Springer was employed with the telephone company for 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, a former president of the Retired Telephone Pioneers and a member of Brainerd Kiwanis. He was the husband of the late Flossie Springer who died in August. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Guy Jordan; two grandchildren, Gary Jordan and Lisa Jordan; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Reed of Hixson and Mrs. Ethel Brown of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the graveside in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Revs. William Hartley and Ansel T. Baker officiating. Pallbearers will be C.L. Jennings, Rudy Simpson, Sherman Anderson, Bill Price, Pat Rose, Gale Franks, Jackie R. Davis, and Noel Barron. The body is at the North Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153.
