Donald F. Bowley, Sr., 75, died September 27, 2007, at his home in Danville NH after a brief illness. He was born on December 13, 1931, in East Kingston NH, the son of the late Oscar C. and Nina (Giles) Bowley. He attended Sanborn Seminary and served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. On April 18, 1954, he married Joanne Smart; she predeceased him in 1991. He was owner and operator of Donald Bowley & Son Logging Company in Danville for 35 years and also was employed by Fremont Dairy in Exeter and Portsmouth NH until 1971. In his later years he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and playing bingo.
He is survived by his daughters Sheila Thurlo of Raymond NH and Donna Burleigh of Kingston NH; sons Oscar Bowley of Goffstown NH, and Donald Bowley and Bruce Bowley, both of Danville, NH; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Roland Bowley of Rhode Island and Leonard Bowley of Massachusetts; sisters Dorothy McGuire of Chester NH and Lorraine Bowley of Epping NH; and several nieces and nephews.
