Binding Pole Gives Away Striking Alfred Abbott On Head

Alfred Abbott was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon about four-thirty o'clock when struck by a binding pole that came loose from a load of poles that had been secured while north of the Cornwell farm. Mr. Abbott was in company with his brother, William and several neighbors when the accident occurred. Medical aid was summoned but he never gained consciousness passing away about seven o'clock that evening.
Mr. Abbott was about 68 years old and never married, and resided alone in Hatton township, but recently his brother, William and wife of Flushing, came for a visit and were at his home when this mishap occurred.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Frank Acre, of the Brand community, Mrs. Fred Doty and Mrs. James Mizer, of Pontiac, and his brother, William.
Funeral services will be held from the Dover Tabernacle this Friday afternoon, Rev. Chas. Kleinhardt officiating and burial made in Cherry Grove.
