David M. Myers, 87, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Annville, PA. He was a native of St. Louis, Missouri and a resident of Grafton, Virginia for 34 years.
David served in U.S. Navy as Junior Officer 4th Division Deck and was a veteran of WWII with the Merchant Marines. He continued his career at Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock as Senior Design Engineer and retired in 1993 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and Gideon's International. David graduated from the University of Missouri in St. Louis.
David was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Lydia Myers; brother, William Myers; and sister, Martha M. Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Mary Howard Myers; sons, Wayne Myers and wife, Susan of Troy, OH, and Clifford Myers of North Chesterfield, VA; daughters, Patty Anglea and husband, Steven of Lebanon, PA, and Janet Snow and husband, David of Traveler's Rest, SC; sister, Betty M. Morgan of Boulder, CO; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Maranatha Baptist Church, with a celebration of David's life to begin at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dale Coffey. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
