PFC Melissa Jennifer Hobart, of Ladson, entered into eternal rest June 6, 2004, while on active duty with the United States Army, serving in Iraq. Military officials believe Melissa suffered a heart attack.
She was the daughter of Constance Hobart and stepfather, Edward Dziamalek of Ladson and father Gary Hobart of Branford, CT
Melissa leaves behind and will be deeply missed by, in addition to her parents, her daughter, Alexis McCabe of Ladson, SC; two brothers, Gary E. Hobart of Ladson and Steven W. Hobart of Branford, CT; grandparents Mary Hobart of East Haven, CT, Joan and Pops Osborne of Hamden CT, and nine cousins, five uncles and four aunts.
