On Monday last Adam Becker died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter DeYoung, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Germany, Aug. 22, 1835. In 1872 he came to this country, where he remained two years and then returned to his native land. In 1877 he was married to Anna Schmitz. In 1881 they came to this country and located at Appleton, where they remained until 1887 and then moved to Brothertown, this county, where they lived until 1891, when they located in this city. Mr. Becker was a stone mason and worked at his trade here until a few years ago, when he was obliged to give it up. On Nov. 12, 1907 his wife died and shortly afterwards he went to Appleton to make his home with his daughter. His death was due to heart trouble. The remains were brought to this city for interment and funeral took place from St. Mary's church Thursday morning. He leaves three sons and two daughters.
