Connie Joanne Richmond, 67, from near Novinger, Mo., formerly of Ottumwa, passed away April 6, 2012, at her home.

Born on Sept. 30, 1944, in Ottumwa to Bernie E. and Dorothy A. McCarty of Ottumwa. She was united in marriage on May 29, 1960, to Jerry Lonson Richmond, son of Edeart L. and Mildred G. Richmond from near Novinger, Mo. To this this union were born two children, Dennis and Lori.

She grew up in Ottumwa. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother and lived and raised her family in several places during her lifetime in Tennessee, California, Indiana, Iowa and finally in Missouri. She received her nursing degree from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa in 1989 and worked for the Adair County Health Department serving her community until her retirement in 2005.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry from near Novinger, Mo.; her son, Dennis Richmond of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Lori Richmond Gieselman of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, Mo.; with Father Troy Richmond officiating. Burial will be at Lipp Cemetery, Putnam County, Missouri. Visitation will begin one hour prior to her service.
