Mr. Adair passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on November 11, 1923 in Goodwater, Alabama to Robert Hurell Adair and Myrtle Ezelle Smith Adair. He was a longtime member of Sixth Street Baptist Church. Mr. Earl was an avid golfer, gardener, fisherman, and bird watcher. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves and the Crimson Tide and never missed a game. He was a veteran and served his country in all five branches of the military. He was a longtime and active member of the Alexander City Veteran's Honor Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Macie Jean Mooney Adair of Alexander City; daughter, Kathy Adair Bartholomew (John David) of Apex, NC; son, Ronald Keith Adair (Annette Truelove) of New Hill, NC; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and brothers, George Hurell Adair (Shelby) and Robert Lewis Adair (Pauline), both of Alexander City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Thelma Jean Sellers.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be given to the Sixth Street Baptist Church, 2324 6th Street Ext., Alexander City, AL 35010.
