|Per cemetery records, Arthur Carraway or Caraway of Company C, 8th Florida Regiment, born 1830, died 10/26/1862, is buried in the Soldiers Section, but the exact location is not know. This is an overview of the area at Hollywood Cemeter (between Soldier's Section West and Section V) which is used to place modern V.A. markers for soldiers whose exact location is not known. And in the case of your soldier we find no marker. Near the fall of Richmond, casualties were brought to Richmond by trains and carts in a steady flow. Burials were hasty and marked not by name but by numbered boards which each represent a trench of burials. The only markers that exist today are markers that were placed at a later date by descendants. If you are interesting in placing a marker for him, the Hollywood Cemetery office can assist you.|
