Completed her earthly mission at age 83 from natural causes at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Born in Squirrel, Idaho. Daughter of Edgar Elbert Payne and Ollie Melissa House. Grew up and attended school in Ashton. Married Cullum Markley Case October 9, 1941 in St. Anthony. Married solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple August 13, 1952. Homemaker, mother and helped her husband in the timber business. Did season work during potato and grain harvests by cooking for threshers, picking potatoes and driving grain and potato trucks. Drove school bus for 13 years. Lived in and around Ashton before moving to Idaho Falls six years ago. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. Enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. Loved having visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her children Becky (Matt) Pickett, Wesley (Kathleen) Case, Joe Case, Susan (Roger) Wood; 18 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren survive. Predeceased by husband and her three brothers Elbert Francis Payne, Dennis Jay Payne and Dee Payne.

Service held in the Ashton LDS Third Ward on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. Burial under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home of Ashton.
