Jarmie DeWitt Barnes, 84, of Steele, died Dec. 7, 1987 at his home. Born May 23, 1903 in Dyersburg, he was the son of Homer and Alice Sanders Barnes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ella Reel Barnes.
He is survived by one stepson, Talmadge Woods of San Bernardino, Calif.; One stepdaughter, Mrs. Alleen Ray of Steele; One half sister, Mrs. Evelyn Summer of Antioch, Calif.; And two stepsisters, Mrs. Nerble Hitchcock of Hughson, Calif., and Mrs. Gladys Grey of St. Louis.
Graveside services were Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery, the Rev. John Dunavant officiating, German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Jarmie Dewitt Barnes, 84, died December 7, 1987 at Steele, Mo. Son of the late Homer and Alice Sanders Barnes, he was born May 23, 1903 at Dyersburg, Tenn.

He was married to Ella Reel at Blytheville, Ark. in 1943. She preceded him in death.

He leaves one step-son, Talmadge Woods of San Bernardino, Calif.; one step-daughter, Aleen Ray of Steele; one half-sister, Evelyn Summer of Antioch, Calif.; and two step-sisters: Nerble Hitchock of Hughson, Calif. and Gladys Grey of St. Louis.

Rev. John Dunavant conducted graveside services Wednesday, December 9, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery, Steele. German-Aumon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
