Raymond Lawson, 87, of Caldwell, died Sunday, February 2, 1992, at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes. Mr. Lawson was born August 13, 1904, at Bertram, Minnesota, to Christopher Columbus and Laura Doe Lawson. He moved to the Coulee, Washington, area with his parents as a child and was raised and educated there. At the age of eighteen, he came to the Riverside area near Caldwell. He married Betty J. Crew, July 3, 1945, at Payette and they have made Caldwell their home since that time. Mr. Lawson was employed by the Pioneer Irrigation District as a heavy equipment operator for thirty-three years until his retirement in 1969. He loved to work in his garden and in his yard and loved dancing.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of Caldwell; a daughter, Linda L. Young of Nampa; two sons, John R. Lawson of Dundee, Oregon, and James R. Lawson of Caldwell; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
