SCALES MOUND, Ill. -- Clara C. Hesselbacher, 90, of Scales Mound, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Scales Mound, with the Rev. Chris Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where there will be a parish rosary/scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on March 2, 1920, in Lafayette County, Wis., daughter of Charles and Johanna (Gleason) Driscoll. She married LaVerne J. "Popeye" Hesselbacher on Sept. 26, 1939, in Apple River; he preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1989.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society.

Clara loved to crochet and was an excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Jochum, Eileen Wiederholt and Phyllis Lange; and four brothers, Cletus, Justin, Charles and Joseph Driscoll.
