Alice L. Bogan, 52, of Springfield died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 1989, at St. John’s Hospital.

Ms Bogan was born August 1, 1937 in Edinburg, the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Bible) Burke. She married Paul H. Bogan on November 21, 1959 in Farmersville. They later divorced. Ms Bogan was a 1955 graduate of Farmersville High School in Farmersville. She worked as a clerk for the State of Illinois Commerce Commission for 34 years. Ms Bogan was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her companion, Lowell Southern of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. David (Lisa) Jacobs of Springfield; her mother, Mrs. Mary Burke of Farmersville; one brother, Charles “Butch” Burke of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Bernard “Jake” Burke.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 1989, at Staab Funeral Home. Rev. William Schroeder officiated, with burial following in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
