She was born in Albion and lived in the Tekonsha area most of her life before moving to the Marshall House in the 1980s. She worked as a nurse's aide at the former American Legion Hospital in Battle Creek, then at Leila Hospital for a number of years before retiring in 1970.
Surviving area a son, Robert W. Belote (Lou) of Battle Creek; a daughter, Mary Thornton of Warren; six grandchildren; four great-grand-children, sisters, Marguerite Bowers of Rochester and Julia Curry of Litchfield; and brothers Keith Baker of Haines City, /FL, James Baker of FL and Don Baker of Marshall
Her husband, Waldo E. Belote, died in 1964
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home Memorial donations may be made to Mercy Pavilion.
