MACON - Homegoing services for Deacon Jimmy L. Tarver will be held at 11A.M. Saturday, March 31, 2012 in Kings Chapel Baptist Church, 2994 Upper River Road, Macon. Pastor Jeffrey Spencer will officiate. Interment services will follow in the church cemetery. Deacon Tarver, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

A Macon native, Deacon Tarver was born to the parentage of the late Sam Ross and Mamie L. Tarver. He was a graduate of Hudson High and attended Lincoln University of Missouri. He served with distinction in the US Army during the Korean War and early Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Kings Chapel Baptist Church where he served as the past chairman of the Deacon Board, the Brotherhood and numerous other capacities until his health began to ebb. He was a retired managing Supervisor at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Dorothy W. Tarver; one daughter, Nancy Cleveland; three grandchildren; and a host of others relatives and friends.
