LeeRoy was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Heppner, Ore. He moved with his family to Milton-Freewater, Ore., when he was 5 years old. At 15, he went to work with his father shearing sheep in Idaho. On Aug. 11, 1956, he married Doris DeFord of Hansen, Idaho. They had four children and later divorced. He then moved back to Milton-Freewater. On March 16, 1970, he married Isabel J. Culver in Longview, Wash. They had one daughter. He worked at various jobs, including gas stations and as a mechanic on area farms. He retired in 1984 due to ill health. He enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the Oregon Coast.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel of Milton-Freewater, Ore.; former wife, Doris Adams of Filer; aunt, Ida (Jack) Gummerson of Rupert; daughters, Annie Adams of Las Vegas, Nev., Christina (Everett) Poulignot of Filer and Brenda (Bill) Whiteley of Buhl; son, Kevin (Shawna) Adams of Jerome; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many cousins in the Mini-Cassia area. He was preceded in death by both parents; stepfather, Ray Wilson; one son; and one great-grandson.
