Patricia Lee Bock, 63, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. Visitation 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, a Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. Pat was born July 5, 1948, in Paola, Kan. She was retired with 35 years of service from Kansas City Life Ins. Co. Pat lived her life for her grandchildren and her daughter and son-in-law. She so often did for others before herself including her dog, Penny, and cat, Baxter. During Sara's years of playing softball, she never missed one game. She carried this tradition on with Joseph and Caden's baseball games. She was an amazing woman who helped keep our household functioning and our laundry clean, and we were truly blessed to have her in our lives. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Wayne "Shorty" Smith. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Dale Ellett; grandchildren, Joseph and Caden Ellett; her twin sister, Peggy Sturgeon; brothers, David McAfee and Chuck Smith and many other family and friends. And after all these years, she was still married to my dad, Bob Bock. She will be missed dearly by all of us. She already is.
