Donald (Don) M. Martin, age 89, went home to be with our Lord on February 13, 2004, from his home in Kennewick, WA. He was born to Joseph Abner Martin and Daisy Loucinda Martin on October 19, 1914, in Harper, Kansas. Don had two brothers and a sister.
Don married Sadie Irene Babcock in 1938 and to this union were born his three children, Donald Wayne, Gary Lee and Linda Kay.
Don and Sadie divorced in 1944 and Don married Leona Livingston in 1945. In 1946, Don began his apprenticeship in the IBEW Union in Wichita, Kansas. In the early '50s through 1954, Don and Leona moved to Hermiston, OR, where he worked on McNary Dam. In 1955 to 1960, he lived and worked in Indianapolis, IN, moving to Richland, WA, in 1960. He worked at Hanford and other jobs in the area. Leona passed away in September of 1962.
After Leona's death, Don met and married Alice Sanders in June of 1963. Alice's mother was one of Leona's nurses while she was ill at Kennewick General Hospital. Don and Alice are members of the Church of God in Pasco, WA, where they have many friends. Don never knew a stranger, thoroughly enjoyed life, always had a joke to tell, loved camping and being with friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Eugene Martin and Roy Martin and sister, Ruby Crawford, all of Hutchinson, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Alice (Sanders) Martin, Kennewick, WA; two sons, Donald W. Martin and wife Linda, Gary Lee Martin and wife Brenda, all of Wichita, KS; Linda Kay Roll and husband Don of Healdton, OK; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, February 16, 2004, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick, WA, between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., with Graveside Service on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery followed by Memorial Services at 11 a.m. at the Church of God in Pasco, WA, located at 84th and Court St.
His family wishes to thank their many friends for their kindness and prayers and thanks also to Hospice House for their loving care and guidance. Memorials may be given in his name to Church of God of Pasco, Building Fund.
