Mrs. Lena Taylor Barnhardt, 89, of Rutherford College, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at her residence after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Barnhardt was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Maiden to the late Charles C. and Addie Ramseur Taylor. She was an active member of Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church and retired as a RN with over 30 years of service from Valdese General Hospital.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, June Taylor, Charles Taylor and Hal Taylor; and six sisters Willie Yoder, Hazel Bolick, Lorene Taylor, Eara Winn, Grace Harbinson and Pansy Cline.
Surviving is her husband Charles H. Barnhardt, a son, a daughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Lena T. Barnhardt will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. A service of remembrance will follow at 10 a.m. in the Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church with Revs. David Hamlyn and Roland Barnhardt officiaiting.
Heritage Funeral Service is assisting the Barnhardt family.
