Mrs. Joanne Barr, 64, died Wednesday, May 10 1989, at her Union Star residence. Mrs. Barr was born January 13, 1925, in Pickway, Ohio, a daughter of the late Leland and Margaret Burger Ellsworth. She served as bookkeeper at different times for St. Helen's Bank in Louisville, Irvington Wheel Alignment, and Milner School, and was a member of Payneville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Oscar Barr; one daughter, Ms. Donna Zigler of Union Star; four foster children, Ms. Tammy Stewart of Peoria, Illinois, Delbert Stewart of Louisville, Mary Oliver of Jefferson, Ohio, and Shirley Griffin, Bartlett, Tenn.;one brother, Leland Ellsworth of Louisville, and 20 grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 1p.m. on Saturday, May 13, from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, Irvington, with the Rev. Jerry Tranthan officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Lodiburg.
