Robert A. Chapman, age 92, third of nine children born to CD and Euphemia Chapman, passed away at Mt. St. Vincent's Nursing Home at 12:30 p.m. Bob grew up in West Seattle from age 11 when the family moved from North Dakota in 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters and two younger brothers. He attended West Seattle Schools and joined the Seabees during WWII. He was a member of the operating engineers 302 for over 70 years. He belonged to the Shriners for many years. Bob is survived by his sister Mary E. Mason of West Seattle and John D. Chapman of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give many thanks to Joanne Mason who watched over Bob along with nurses Rowena, Daniel Yimer and Asefa, Sr. Sue and all the staff on 5 North. Bob was interred at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA with military honors on 9th March 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
