GREEN VALLEY, Ariz. -- Graveside Services celebrating the lives of Rex and Shirley Beavers will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston with John McArthur officiating. Rex passed away on May 20, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona and Shirley passed away this past Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Green Valley. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Animal League of Green Valley or to the Alzheimer's Association. Memorial gifts may be left at the Graveside Services or may be mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920. Rex was born May 1, 1927 in Charleston, a son of Cecil P. and Ethel (Barnes) Beavers. Shirley was born September 21, 1929 in Coles County, a daughter of Earl and Lucy (Oakley) Ingram. They were married on October 24, 1947 and shared sixty-three years together. They are survived by their children, Jeff Beavers and wife Cindy of Parker, Colorado and Tracey Smalley and husband Karl of Watkins, Colorado; a grandson, Ian Beavers of Los Angeles, California; Shirley's sister, Patty Keller of Elkhart, Indiana; Rex's brother, Jerry Beavers of Charleston and many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to their parents they were preceded in death by two of Rex's brothers, Jack and Max Beavers. Rex and Shirley enjoyed attending auctions together - Shirley to add to her collection of antique dolls and glassware and Rex to add to his antique clock collection. When they resided in Charleston they enjoyed outings and adventures with Rex's brother Jerry and his wife Jenny and after they relocated to Elkhart, Indiana they enjoyed many similar experiences with Shirley's sister Patty and her husband Jerry. Rex and Shirley will be truly missed but fondly remembered by their family and friends.
