She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Chester Arthur and Catherine Cecelia (Orr) Smith.
On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Paul Bryan Caldwell in Philadelphia. They moved to Klamath Falls from Hollywood, Fla., in 1957. Paul preceded her in death in 2002.
She was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Klamath Falls. She enjoyed crocheting and singing. She sang in the church choir and was always willing to help a stranger. Her greatest joy was helping and taking care of her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Marion and Gary Gunnels of Arlington, Wash., Dianne and John Osberg of Jackson, Minn., and Carol and Richard McCullough of Klamath Falls, and 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a wonderful legacy to her life.
In addition to her husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her son Bruce William Caldwell and twins James Caldwell and Joyce Marie Brittain
