Born January 5, 1918 in Georgetown, she was retired as a registered nurse having worked for Martin's Hospital and Winn Parish Medical Center. Mrs. Dodge was a graduate of Centenary College where she played on the basketball team and the synchronized swim team. She will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisher.
Mrs. Dodge was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Nellie (Norris) Lawrence; her husband and the love of her life, C.O. "Coach" Dodge; two sisters, Beatrice Long and Petie Jones; brother, Julius Lawrence.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Dodge Kent of Georgetown; brother, Jack Lawrence of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter, Kalinda Monroe of Pollock, LA; grandson, Eddy Kent of Georgetown; five great-grandchildren, Kagnee, Kylee, McKenzee, Jacob, Nathan; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaigan and Kambry.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Starks Cemetery in Georgetown with Bro. Thurman Beavers officiating. Visitation will follow in the Georgetown Baptist Church family Life Center.
