Corbina Maxine Watwood (1939-2012)


SHERMAN - A Celebration of Life for Cobina Maxine Watwood, 72, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Pathway Church of God with Pastor Bill Lee officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery .

Cobina was born June 6, 1939 in Decatur, Texas to William Earl Pittman and Ruby Mae (Rose) Pittman and went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 10, 2010 in Denison. Cobina was retired from the Sherman ISD in 2001 from working in the cafeteria. Ms. Watwood was a Godly and faithful member of Pathway Church of God where she was very involved in church work. She loved reading the Bible, listening to the Word, and "hummed' because of the joy she had in her heart. Being with her family was everything to her and she often told her family, "Keep looking up to Jesus".

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two husbands, James Simpson Lester and Carless Eugene Watwood.

She leaves behind her loving family, daughter Tina L. Lester of Lufkin, sons James Lester and wife Laura of Marshall, Gene Watwood and wife Kem of Pottsboro, grandchildren Mandy Lynn Thomas, Heather Fields, Jennifer Lester, Ashley McNabb, Rachel Elardo, Chris Lester, Alexandria J. Watwood, Dalton C. Watwood, and Timothy J. Watwood, seven great-grandchildren, and two best friends Sister Killman and Shirley Dixon.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Watwood, Timothy Watwood, Tyler Rhodes, Tanner Rhodes, Tye McNabb, Chris Lester, Brad Thomas, and Michael Elardo. Honorary pallbearer will be Blane Thomas.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 -8 p.m., at the funeral home.
