1967 obituary. GRAY -- Mrs. Helen M. Lawrence, 72, a lifelong resident of Gray, died in a Portland nursing home Tuesday after a long illness. She was the wife of Perley W. Lawrence.

Mrs. Lawrence was born at Gray, July 19, 1894, daughter of Willard and Elizabeth Tufts Merrill. She attended Gray schools and graduated from Pennell Institute.

She was a member of the Gray American Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge, the Ladies Circle and the Gray Congregational Church.

Surviving besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Emery; a brother, Frank G. Merrill; a sister, Mrs. Karl H. Merrill, all of Gray; two two grandchildren and two nieces.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the Wilson Funeral Home, Gray. Interment will be in Gray Village Cemetery.
